The annual Wayne County Veterans and Patriots Coalition’s Veterans Day Parade will be held this year in downtown Goldsboro, Tuesday November 11.
Our Grand Marshall this year will be WWII Army Combat Veteran Thurston Quinn. Mr. Quinn will be celebrating his 100th birthday on Dec 14th.
The parade lineup will begin at 09:30 am on Tuesday November 11 at S. Center St and Spruce St. The parade will begin at 11:00 am and proceed South down Center St., U-turn at Pine St. circle and travel North ending at Center and Ash St.
Those wishing to enter this year’s parade may download the application form at waynegov.com, Services, drop down menu click Veteran Services, on the page click Veterans Day Parade then click the link to down-load the application. There are no entry fees. After completing the application, return it to Ms. Danitra Shuford, Veterans Services Assistant at the Veteran Services Office, 2001-D E. Ash St, Goldsboro NC, 27533, Fax: 919-731-1685. Deadline for entries is noon Friday 7 November. Following the parade there will be a memorial service by the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) at 1:00 pm at the Wayne County Veterans Memorial at the intersection of N. William St. and E Walnut St. across from the County Court House.
