From Goldsboro to Mt Olive, to Pikeville to LaGrange, to Princeton, our residents have let us know what’s on their mind, good or bad! If you have a comment, you’re more than welcome to go to our Buzz Around Wayne County Facebook page at the end of each month and give us your thoughts. Or you can email to dan@thebuzzaroundwaynecounty.com to keep your response more private. Please see the comments below for August from your fellow Wayne County residents about their likes, dislikes and their thoughts on the needs of Wayne County!
Wayne County, Speak Your Mind!
Rosewood needs a park for kids to play at.
How about Fremont area, are they not part of Wayne County or are they considered the Red Headed Step Child?
There needs to be something in place for young adults to do, on a Friday and Saturday night other than hangout in Walmart parking lots.
Once and for all, GET RID OF THE RIDICULOUS DIVIDERS IN THE MIDDLE OF BERKELEY AND THE ONE ON WAYNE MEMORIAL!!!. They force you to make a U-turn rather than turn left out of a business.
Wayne County, please help build a better community for our military that are stationed here.
All the STREETS need paving. Too many holes!! Bad for driving! We need a better MALL. This MALL needs to be torn down & have a better MALL built. Maybe build a Cracker Barrel. They serve good food.
I would love to see law enforcement start cracking down on things specifically like illegal blacked out tinted car windows and the silly looking and UNSAFE " Carolina Squat " vehicles which are also illegal. Another thing I see every day are utility trailers with no license plates and lights, why are these people not bein
Mulberry St is residential. The speed limit is 25 mph. SLOW DOWN!
Get a grip on the beggers on 117 that are seen buying booze at the new 117 south gas station!
Grass clippings left on city streets are hazardous, ugly, and clog storm drains contributing to flooded streets. Rake clippings up, please.
Downtown has SO MUCH POTENTIAL. Clean up the crime around the outskirts and encourage more small business restaurants and boutiques on and around Center Street. It’s headed in the right direction but needs a push to get there!
Take over abandoned properties and either fix them up and sell, or demolish! It’s not only unsightly but unsafe. Sell for tax debt!!
Until this county recruits some better paying jobs, we will continue to lag behind. The working people always have to work elsewhere to really earn a living wage. Then when they buy a home they're looking to be closer to their jobs. So the county loses more tax revenue.
An Arby’s in Rosewood would be nice!
I agree 100% with the need of a play area for special needs children. I discussed it with some city leaders and got no positive results from any of them.
Regular cleaning of storm drains makes for good curb appeal for your property and reduces street flooding.
How about doing away with the railroad tracks that are never used on 117 south near old the radio station?
Fix the enormous pot holes at Bo Jangles 117 south, and use some tax payer money to repave the crappy roads in the city and not on stupid unused sidewalks for the homeless to walk on.
Brewington (beside Georgia Pacific). Needs lines repainted!! At night there’s just a solid slab of black and in rain less than that is able to be seen!
The only gospel radio station Wayne County had over 50 years stopped playing gospel. I’m so disappointed!
We need more van accessible handicapped parking down town and at local shops and restaurants.
Someone needs to say something about how our emergency management is run!
This county needs a good electronic store. Something similar to Best Buy.
It would be nice to have things in Goldsboro but no one is gonna spend the money cause even if it’s for the young kids, it will get destroyed.
The Intersection of Arrington Bridge Rd and Greenfield Cemetery Road needs improvement.
Wish I wasn’t paying sewage cost for watering my garden. Wish I wasn’t paying $100 for access to electricity!
That Burlington store has become ragged… as merchandise is thrown everywhere! And no one around for help. And long lines...
Cracker Barrel!!!Do away with interstate 42!
We desperately need a stop light in Pikeville at the intersection of Nahunta road and Pikeville Princeton Road at the bottom of the bridge. It’s very dangerous in the morning before school and in the evenings.
I think the median income in Wayne County is around $38k/yr. Until that number comes up, very little will change.
Revitalize the mall!
We need more childcare opportunities, and more services for children with special needs.
We do need a decent seafood restaurant!
Please fix Hood Swamp Rd!

The stoplight at Lockhaven Dr. and Wayne Memorial needs to be fixed so the cars on Lockhaven have to actually exist before the light changes. I would think that emergency vehicles going to the hospital would be more important that a light changing for NO reason.
