United Way of Wayne County Partners with Duke Energy Foundation
GOLDSBORO, NC – Thanks to the Duke Energy Foundation, United Way of Wayne County will receive a $25,000.00 grant to build capacity and support basic needs for the Wayne County community. Duke Energy is seeking to support the basic needs of many communities in North Carolina and thanks to the Duke Energy Foundation, the United Way of Wayne County is one of 39 organizations in North Carolina to collectively receive $1 million in grants from the Duke Energy Foundation.
Sherry Archibald, Executive Director of the United Way of Wayne County acknowledged “The needs are stronger than ever, and with our local partners tapped of resources, many citizens are falling through the cracks.” She also said, “The grant will allow us to hire a part-time Community Healthcare Worker, and through the support of 211 and the platform, NCCARE360, we will provide resources, referrals, case management and direct services.”
Duke Energy, District Manager and Government & Community Relations Director, Derrick Remer, presented a check to the United Way during their Campaign Kick-Off on Wednesday, August 23rd at at the Maxwell Center.
