Our Habitat Big Bets = Big Impact: By Matthew Whittle

About a month or so ago Habitat for Humanity International completed its new strategic plan, and while Habitat Goldsboro-Wayne is its own entity, we do look to our umbrella organization for guidance and support. So we thought it was especially appropriate when one themes this year turned out to be a challenge to galvanize change through big bets. Because that’s exactly what we’re doing this year.

As Habitat Goldsboro-Wayne prepares to head into its 25^th year in 2026, we also are undertaking our biggest project ever – our McNair Height Neighborhood. Located off of Harris Street along Dr. H.E. McNair Street in Goldsboro, this project includes not only a total of 31 new homes in just Phase 1 of an expected three, but also all of the infrastructure development necessary to support those homes.

It's a massive undertaking that for us, is a huge bet on our capacity and on this community’s support.

But it’s a bet we know is worth taking because we know the impact that it will have and the lives it will change – not just for our Habitat homeowners, but for the surrounding community as well.

So now we are inviting the community to take this bet with us. Bet on Habitat and bet on our homeowners.
