Judge Inclined to Deny Trump Request

SAN DIEGO (AP) — The latest developments on Donald Trump's lawyers seeking to dismiss one of three lawsuits involving Trump University alleging the Republican presidential contender defrauded customers at the now defunct business.

A federal judge says he is inclined to deny a request to dismiss a lawsuit against Donald Trump that accuses the Republican presidential nominee of defrauding customers at the now-defunct Trump University.

U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel did not elaborate on his thinking during a lengthy hearing Friday in San Diego. It is one of three lawsuits against Trump University. He will issue a final decision in writing at a later time.

Trump's attorney, Daniel Petrocelli, is urging the judge to reconsider, calling the lawsuit a "gross overreach" of federal civil racketeering statutes.

He says plaintiffs have failed to show that Trump himself orchestrated allegedly misleading marketing claims.

Trump has accused Curiel of being biased against him.
