GLORY TO GOD’S SON
Berries on the thorny firethorn bush
Hang in clusters and have turned red
Chill in the air means winter is near
Christmas on the way it can be said
Yards decorated with grapevine reindeer
Inflatable Angels, carolers too
The nativity scene in the spotlight
In a special place for all to view
Garlands hanging around the house
And in the windows candles bright
Once a sign of good news and welcome
To those that traveled at night
Colorful lights blinking on and off
Tinsel glistening on the Christmas tree
A big star or even an angel atop
Wide-eyed children waiting anxiously
Explain to the little ones
Why we decorate and keep Jesus near
Teach them to give glory to God’s only Son
During this time every year
Gifts all wrapped and bows curled
Let the bells jingle all the way
The most important reason to celebrate
Is God’s gift, Jesus, born to us this day
MERRY CHRISTMAS
