Your Support is Welcomed! A Great Cause, A Great Time! Smoke on the Mountain
The First Baptist Church located at 125 South John St in Goldsboro will be hosting a Dinner Theatre fun night on Friday, February 27th and Saturday, February 28th. All proceeds will be used to provide a meal to the families (about 200-250 family members) of the deployed military personnel from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. Please come and show your support for our friends there.
Dinner includes a delicious home cooked meal and the play, Smoke on the Mountain is a hilarious musical comedy with actors coming from the First Baptist Church. Dinner begins at 5:30pm each night with show time starting at 7pm.
The play itself centers on Pastor Mervin Oglethorpe, who is trying to bring his church, Mt Pleasant Baptist, located in Mt Pleasant, into the modern world. The time is June 1938. The pastor has invited the Sanders Family (who have not sung together in 5 years) to a Saturday Night Sing at the church, which had not been done before. The family is hilarious as they sing lots of old songs as well as each providing a personal testimony with funny and unexpected events though-out the show.
Smoke on the Mountain was written by Connie Ray and conceived by Alan Baily. Tickets are $15 each. Please make checks payable to the First Baptist Church. For more information please call 919-735-2516. Come show our military that yo
