2016 GREATER GOLDSBORO ROAD RUN (38th) Sat., April 16, 2016

The Sunrise Kiwanis’ Greater Goldsboro Road Run is one of the oldest road runs in North Carolina. It has been held annually since 1979. The event has a long tradition where participants can enjoy a run or walk on a USATF certified course primarily along streets lined with azaleas and dogwoods. Participants are invited to enjoy the fellowship and food with other runners and walkers. It is a family affair with events for everyone.

The purpose of the road run is to raise money to financially support the youth and children in our area through over 20 organizations including scholarships to high school students and students attending Wayne Community College. We support Key Clubs organizations at the local high schools as well. Some of the other organizations that we support include the NC Boys & Girls Home, Reach Out and Read, Communities in Schools, Wayne County Boys & Girls Club, Young Children Priority One, and many others. We generally have between 200-300 participants in the road run.

The 10K run, 5K Run/Walk, and 1 mile Fun Run routes are along Center, Walnut, Jefferson, and Mulberry Streets downtown. The starting locations for all events will be at the Cornerstone Commons located in Goldsboro NC with all starting times at 9:00 AM. Entry fees are $25 pre-registration for 5K and 10K events ($30 race day) and $15 for 1 mile registration. Race day registration begins at 7:00 AM.

Pre-registration is available on-line at www.RunTheEast.com or by mailing in a printed copy of the road run brochure. Brochures are available by request from scott@cox-edwards.com or at various locations in Wayne County. Registration on the day of the event is at the Cornerstone Commons located at the corner of Chestnut and Center Streets.
