August 2014 Buzz Bits By Dan Wroblewski, Publisher/Owner
It’s hard to believe that Summer vacation is almost over as most Wayne County Public Schools start back August 25th. Yes, we still have the Labor Day Holiday in September but for the most summer is coming to an end. If you check our monthly calendar on Page 2, you will see that there are still many events going on in August highlighted by the Health and Wellness Fair on August 9th and the Honeybee Festival on August 16th. Both of these activities are geared towards Family fun and helping the community. I encourage you to attend.
A long time contributor to The Buzz, Betty Kearney, has had small health problems the last few months with the most recent being knee pain in her right knee. She had surgery this past month to do a little “clean-up.” Betty’s main problem is that it’s her driving knee! Oh no! Anyone knowing Betty knows that Betty’s not a happy camper if she’s not out on the road shopping, visiting or frequenting our local restaurants. Get well soon Betty as your readers miss you!
We continue to have great support from the community as we try to spread the message of nonprofits and other organizations helping the children and people of Wayne County. As paid daily newspapers continue to lose readers and circulation all over the country, it’s publications like ours that continue to bring you the news that you have told us that you want to read. Our circulation is 15,000, mailing out 10,000 copies each month. Stories about family, pictures of current events or events from decades ago are always welcome. And of course, we love our advertisers, so please support them! If you have stories or pictures that you think our readers might like, please email to firstname.lastname@example.org and thanks for being a Buzz reader!
