Free Tickets to Those Effected by Hurricane Matthew

Thanks to the City of Goldsboro and Paramount Theatre Foundation, and in response to the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Matthew to our community; the Paramount Theatre would like to extend the opportunity to attend our upcoming performance featuring Parsons Dance on Friday, October 28 at 7:30 p.m. at NO COST to those suffering from the effect of the hurricane.

“This performance is a year and half in the making and will be a terrific display of strength and agility; unique to anything we have ever presented.” said Sherry Archibald, Paramount Theatre Director. “I appreciate the opportunity to offer this experience to so many that have suffered loss in their business or home during Hurricane Matthew.” We do have assigned seating so please call the theatre’s box office to reserve your seats today.

Parsons dancers will bring dance to the Goldsboro community outside of the performance at the Paramount, as part of their mission to deliver positive, affirming and life-enriching experiences to audiences worldwide, through dance and movement. They will work with autistic students at Goldsboro’s New Independence Academy, and will teach a dance exercise class for seniors at the Zwerling Performing Arts Center. They will also do workshops with local student dancers interested in a dance career.

There will also be a talkback with the company immediately following the performance.

The Paramount’s introduction to the world of presenting modern dance was made possible through the Dancing Touring Initiative, a program from South Arts that provides assistance in block booking, technical issues, networking, and professional development to presenters, as well as matching funds to support the tour of a dance company for two consecutive years. The project is an effort to empower presenters to develop a sustainable approach to the art of presenting modern dance and contemporary ballet. The Paramount entered the Dance Touring Initiative cycle for the 2016-17 season, enabling the Theatre to present its first professional dance company to its annual Performing Arts Series and bring Parsons’ outreach programs to the Goldsboro community.

Tickets for the October 28 Parsons Dance performance at the Paramount Theatre are $22 (including tax; $10 for ages 18 and under) and are available at www.GoldsboroParamount.com, by calling 919-583-8432, or at the Paramount Box Office at 139 South Center Street, Goldsboro, NC 27530. Again, if you have been affected by Hurricane Matthew, you simply need to call and advise our box office staff when you order your tickets.
