Alert!! From the Wayne County Public Schools

In preparation for Hurricane Matthew, WCPS is closely monitoring the weather and is staying in close communication with emergency management officials. The following decisions were made Tuesday, October 4:

• All after school programs and school sponsored events have been canceled for Friday, October 7 and all campuses will be closed to the public Saturday and Sunday. This means, any scheduled athletic practices and competitions, 4-H programs, Driver’s Ed programs, remediation, PTA meetings, staff meetings, awards ceremonies, plays, parent seminars and facility rentals are canceled.

• All high school Friday night football games have been rescheduled to this Thursday.

• All school field trips have been canceled for this Friday.

• WCPS will continue closely monitoring this storm and will work to keep the public updated as any further decisions are made.
