National Honey Bee Day Celebration Saturday, August 20th in Goldsboro
The Beekeepers of the Neuse Club will be hosting "National Honey Bee Day Celebration" on August 20, 9am -3pm at Waynesborough Park, Hwy 117 South, Goldsboro,NC.
The event is actually a "3 in one" event as the park will be open to tour while The Eastern Carolina Vintage Farm Equipment Club will have an exhibit and a "swap & sale." and the beekeepers will be promoting the importance of honey bees and beekeeping to our agricultural resources. It is estimated that 30% of the food we consume is produced from bee-pollinated plants. We need to save the honey bees!
The Celebration is a family oriented event with food, music, 4H dance group, a children's "Bee Hive," activities center, a hive of live working bees, beekeeping demonstrations and sales of beekeeping equipment. There will also be crafts and jewelry for sale and a bees wax candle making demo/participation by a representative from C.B.Aycock’s Birthplace and much, more for the entire family to enjoy!
