Possible Homicides Investigated

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating two deaths as a homicide investigation. Both occurred overnight. On July 22, 2016, at approximately 6:30p.m. Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Greg Drive in Goldsboro, NC in reference to a person being non-responsive. As the investigation was initiated it was learned that the victim, identified as Randy Grady, w/m, 53 yoa, of Greg Drive, and an acquaintance had gotten into a physical altercation. After the altercation the victim collapsed. Detectives are continuing the investigation. An autopsy will be performed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Raleigh, North Carolina to determine the cause of death.

On July 23, 2016, at approximately 12:30a.m., Deputies responded to a business on Highway 117 South in reference to a person being shot. Upon their arrival and EMS’s arrival the victim, Joshua Omar Forbes, 25 yoa of Day Circle Goldsboro, NC was pronounced deceased. Detectives responded and the investigation showed that the victim had gone to a residence on Bryan Boulevard in Goldsboro where he got into a confrontation with another person. A gunshot was heard and the victim then ran back to the vehicle he had arrived in and announced that he had been shot. The people started to take the victim to the hospital and stopped at the business for assistance when the victim died.

The investigations into both incidents are continuing.
