I keep hearing from people that Time Management is an issue for themselves and their teams. People are getting busier and busier and we could all probably use tips to better manage our time.

I wanted to share my favorite time management tip – Touch it Once. Whether at the workplace, home, hobbies, or with volunteer work, Touch it Once is a valuable concept to learn. With this concept, we should take immediate action on tasks to complete them as soon as they are encountered. Many times, we encounter a task and we put it off until later or only do part of it.

Here's an example we can all relate to. When we get our mail, we may briefly go through it and then lay it on down. Then, we must go back to the pile of mail and sort it to see what is important. Even then, we may wait to toss the junk mail or handle the bills. In reality, we could have sorted the mail at the first touch and the task would have been done. This is a small example but the Touch it Once principle can be used on several tasks throughout your day.

To get more minutes back in your day, be sure to use time management concepts like accomplishing tasks at the first touch.
