The Power of Showing Up: By Kriquette Davis

We often underestimate the quiet strength of simply showing up. Not with fanfare or perfection, but with presence.
I’ve seen it play out in the joy of a child receiving their very first bicycle through Two Wheelers for Tommy. The smiles aren’t just about the gift—it’s about knowing someone cared enough to be there, to say, “You matter.”
The same is true in grief, in illness, or in life’s daily struggles. When we show up—at the hospital bedside, at the kitchen table, or even in a quick phone call—we are telling others they aren’t alone.
We don’t always need the right words. Sometimes, there are no words. What matters is being present in the moment. Whether it’s delivering a meal, lending a listening ear, or offering a simple hug, these small acts carry immeasurable weight.
Life is busy, and it’s tempting to believe we need to do something big to make a difference. But in my experience, it’s often the smallest gestures of showing up that ripple the farthest.
