SUMMER'S LAST LAUGH

By Averil Williams

August is here, and that means backpacks are packed, alarm clocks are back in business, and parents everywhere are celebrating their annual “Summer Vacation Survival Award!” We’ve loaded this issue with Back-to-School giveaways to help families kick off the year right. We also look back at an unforgettable 1776 celebration with photos that captured plenty of smiles, stars, and community spirit. And then there’s Speak Your Mind…let’s just say y’all have a lot to say! At this rate, we may need to give it its own ZIP code—or at least a full page. Special shout out to our founder Dan & Mary celebrating 55 years of wedded bliss! Whoo hoo! So grab something cold, find a little shade, and enjoy another hot-off-the-press edition of The Buzz Around Wayne County!
