She comes in early morning
Her hunger to abate
My lonely gray cardinal, she’s
very rarely later
the feeders are always she knows,
with lots of tempting treats.
She flutters and she flitters,
as she settles down to eat.
The dogs pay her little mind,
they’ve see. her here before
But my lone gray cardinal,
far too pretty to ignore.
The ground is cold with winters chill,
the feed is cold and hard,
She knows it’s time to move along,
the story has been told.
