The Maxwell Center hosts about 220 events per year including corporate trainings, meetings and conferences of all types. The majority of the events are private, but many are personal including weddings, receptions, birthday parties, holiday celebrations, and reunions, both family and school.

There are a couple suggestions we would offer to anyone who might be planning an event at our place or anywhere else.

The first thing to do is to check the availability of the venue you are interested in booking and contract for the event. We’ve had people calling us to say they want a particular date and they already have the catering scheduled and all the invitations sent out; when much to their dismay we do not have a room available on that date.

After the venue is contracted you need to book a caterer. Most caterers will send you an agreement and an invoice for a deposit, if the event is soon, they may want to be paid in full. There are clients who call and check with a caterer but not sign an agreement and then reach out again to them right before the event and the caterer is no longer available. Caterers truly book up fast, so please do not wait.
