June Events at the Wayne County Museum:

Sat. June 3rd –Annual “Tea with the Queen” ticketed fundraiser 1-3pm Meet Miss Goldsboro and her court, enjoy a fashion show, a raffle, prizes, entertainment, and teatime refreshments. Ticket prices: $15 Adults, $8 Children, or $20 for 1 Adult & 1 Child. All event proceeds will benefit the museum.

Sat. June 10th –Opening of “Behind the Lens: Wayne County History in Photos” 10am-5pm This new special exhibit will explore how photographs can be tools to preserve and document personal and community history. This exhibit will be on display until September 30th.

Sat. June 10th –Free Downtown History Walk 10:30am-12pm The walking tour meets in the lobby of the Museum at 10:30 and lasts about 1.5 hours. The tour is guided by our Museum director and will cover the history of Goldsboro, and various historic sites and buildings downtown. Please wear comfy shoes. *weather permitting

Sat. June 17th – Free Juneteenth Black History Walk 10:30-12pm The tour meets in the lobby of the Museum at 10:30 and lasts about 1.5 hours. The tour will cover some of Goldsboro’s important Black History, the historic Little Washington neighborhood, and the James street business “block”. Please wear comfy shoes. *weather permitting

Sat. June 24th – Annual Summer Sidewalk Sale Fundraiser 10am-2pm Come out and support the museum by shopping a wide selection of donated treasures at bargain prices. 100% of the proceeds will benefit the museum and its mission. *We will be accepting donations up until June 22nd.

Thursday, June 29th 7pm. Cult classic movie night, featuring the Ed Woods drive-in favorite, "Plan 9 From Outer Space." Admission is $5 at the door and concessions will be available. Come have a schlocky good time and support the museum!
