December Events at the Wayne County Museum

Saturday, Dec. 3rd, 10:30 am Free Downtown History Walk The walking tour meets in the lobby of the Museum at 10:30 and lasts about 1.5 hours. The tour is guided by our director and will cover the history of Goldsboro, and various historic sites and buildings downtown. Please wear comfy shoes. (*weather permitting)

Saturday, Dec. 17th "Ghosts of Christmas Past" Willowdale Cemetery Fundraiser Event This ticketed event will include a guided evening walk through Willowdale Cemetery where you will meet and learn about some of the Willowdale residents from Wayne County's past, some are well-known and some have been all but forgotten. This year's all-new cast of characters will all be portrayed by local actors. The tours will be followed by a holiday reception at the Wayne County Museum. Tour times are 4-6pm (tours leave every 15 minutes) and then again from 7-9pm. Onsite parking is provided. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children under 12 and available at the museum and will also be available online at Simpletix.com. All proceeds benefit the Museum. The tour is guided by our director and will cover the Black history of downtown Goldsboro, from pioneers, entrepreneurs, historic sites, and the James St. business district to the Little Washington neighborhood.
