Communities Supporting Schools of Wayne County: School Supplies and Reading Buddies Needed

It is hard to believe that it is August and school will begin soon. As always, we are “gearing up” for our school supply drive, and we are looking for individuals and organizations to partner with for both school supplies and for elementary “reading buddies.” We distribute supplies to every school in the county at the beginning of the school year. You may visit our website at www.waynecss.org to see the different ways that you can donate to the school supply drive or to sign up for our newsletters.

Checks may also be mailed to CSS of Wayne at 308 North William Street, Goldsboro, NC 27530. We will be happy to pick up donations from churches or area businesses.

CSS currently serves students in ten schools. Three of these schools are elementary schools where CSS has established elementary reading programs. These reading volunteers serve an important role in the lives of our students. Volunteers commit to work with a student once a week for approximately thirty minutes in one of these three schools where we serve elementary students. Carver Heights, Brogden Primary, and Carver Elementary schools are all in need of reading buddies! If you are interested in serving as a reading buddy, please let us know!
