4-H National Champions
Outdoor cookery is a hands-on grilling category in the 4-H presentations program. Since the young age of cloverbuds, Gideon & Isaac Linton have dedicated a lot of time in perfecting their grilling technique in the turkey and chicken grilling category. They have cooked many cuts of meat using different recipes.
The boys have learned the art of grilling along with food safety and the nutritional value of the meat they cook. As a part of the outdoor cookery competition, an oral presentation is also required in the senior category. This is an area that Isaac & Gideon have grown in over the years, as they have become excellent speakers. They learned about the poultry industry in the United States, and how that impacts to North Carolina.
Gideon & Isaac both presented at the county, district, and state level and placed gold which means they had the opportunity to represent North Carolina at the National 4-H Poultry and Egg Conference held in Louisville, KY. Both, Gideon & Isaac, were named national champions in the chicken and turkey division.
