I Shaved My Legs Today!

WOOOHOO! I shaved my legs today, cooked a gourmet meal of peanut butter & jelly, survived an exercise class without passing out (even though I did knock down an entire row of ladies & split my pants), AND now have our laundry separated into two loads- one is dirty & one is funky. Dirty means we can wear it one more time! Funky means grab a gas mask and run!

This is for every woman who knows what it’s like sometimes to be overwhelmed, overcommitted, and just grateful that God brought you through another day! You see I refuse to compare my days with the great days highlighted on social media, and place my self-worth in the numbers on a bathroom scale, unrealistic standards set by the world, or even the dwindling balance in my checking account.

I am who God says I am! I am fearfully & wonderfully made. He loves me in spite of my insecurities and inadequacies. It’s time we as women stop comparing ourselves to one another, judging one another, or gossiping about each other, and learn to ENCOURAGE & REJOICE with one another! We are real women doing real life together.

So rejoice with me, I shaved my legs today!

“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalm 139:13-14 (NIV)
