Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon Attempted Murder in Goldsboro
On August 9, 2016 at approximately 1535 hours Goldsboro Police Officers responded to H.V. Brown Park in reference to an armed robbery. Michael Knowles of Princeton, NC reported that he posted an item for sale on the internet on the “Offer Up” application. Mr. Knowles came to Goldsboro and met with the two subjects at H.V. Brown Park. During the sales transaction one of the subjects attempted to take the victim’s wallet and cell phone. The subject told Mr. Knowles that he would be killed if he didn’t give him all his stuff. As the subject reached into the vehicle, Mr. Knowles put his vehicle into reverse. The subject drew a handgun and fired at the victim, striking the windshield on the driver’s side. Mr. Knowles provided a description of the two subjects. The suspects were located and captured after a foot chase.
Dajoun Hargis and Deandre Pope were arrested and charged with Attempted Murder and Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon. Both were taken to Wayne County Detention Center. Their first appearance was scheduled for August 10, 2016.
