Car Thief Caught
On June 20, 2016, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office took a report of three stolen vehicles. Between May 31, 2016 and June 1, 2016, unknown person(s) took three vehicles which were parked at a local garage for repairs. The three vehicles belonged to three other citizens and were valued at $22,000.00. One of the vehicles was located by the owner at a local salvage yard. Once this was learned, calls were made to other local salvage yards and the other two vehicles were located. During the investigation, it was learned that one subject was involved in selling all three vehicles. Attempts were made to locate this subject and interview him which failed. Warrants were then secured for his arrest.
On June 21, 2016, Joshua Ray Daniels, white male, of 137 Parks Road, Goldsboro (22 yoa) was located on Parks Road and arrested without incident. He was charged with the following crimes:
3 counts of Felony Larceny
3 counts of Felony Possession of Stolen Motor Vehicle
3 counts of Felony Obtaining Property by False Pretense
1 count of Felony Attempted Obtaining Property by False Pretense
1 count Misd. Providing Fictitious Information to an Officer (he was providing a false name to law enforcement)
He was placed in the Wayne County Detention Center under a $101,000.00 secured bond.
