Dr. Randy Swackhammer Opens Office
Randy Swackhammer, M.D., is pleased to announce the opening of his
new practice at 2400 Wayne Memorial Drive, Suite C, located in the Wayne
Medical Pavilion. Dr. Swackhammer, who is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, is accepting new patients.
Dr. Swackhammer received his undergraduate degree in chemical
engineering at Cornell University. A native of Pittsburgh, he graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and did his residency at Eisenhower Army Medical Center. From 1988 until 1992, he was a staff physician and chief of the internal medicine clinic at Womack Army Medical Center at Fort Bragg. He deployed with the 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment (2nd Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division) to the Middle East as part of Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. After leaving the military, he settled in Latrobe, PA, where he worked for Excela for almost 20 years. He returned to North Carolina in 2012, to work for Wayne Health.
Dr. Swackhammer is active in the community as a member of the Chamber
of Commerce, and the Military Affairs Committee. As a veteran, he is dedicated to serving the needs of both current and former members of the Armed Forces. He has a special interest in medication safety, having served for over a quarter of a century on committees to assure the proper utilization and prescribing of therapeutic drugs. He resides in Goldsboro with his wife, Lydia, and his two cats. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, fishing, and following the Pittsburgh Steelers.
