Walter Thompson @ Paramount Theatre Sunday June 14th

Walter Thompson (Tommy T), a retired Chief Master Sergeant, actor, and singer, will begin the show with songs that he has picked by request of those attending. Some songs feature comedy skits such as a group called the Coasters, who sang "Yakety Yak," "Along Came Jones," and "T'ain't Nothin’ to Me." Walter will also perform a monologue from the movie "The Shawshank Redemption" and continue with songs by The Temptations, James Brown, Lou Rawls, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Black Crows, The Allman Brothers Band, Simply Red, Michael Jackson, Christina Aguilera, Jackie Wilson, and Proud Mary by Ike and Tina Turner. After a 20 minute intermission, the show will continue with Peak City Sound playing music arranged by the band's musical director and bass player, Rachel Moninger. The band is made up of extremely talented musicians, all of which are volunteers. Normally the band is busy playing shows in the Apex/Raleigh area, but they are joining Walter on stage for a special appearance. The band will go on to play a Jazz Festival in Apex on September 20th and in the past has performed a block party of Chick-fil-A and in Cameron Village in Raleigh. Walter has attended John Casablanca's Acting School in Raleigh and has been in countless independent films and stage plays playing ministers, police officers, fathers, a bishop, and his latest role was as a reverend in "From Faith to Freedom" by film maker Derrick Parker. A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. Don't miss a night to remember and help wounded veterans.
