Tuesday, May 20, 10:00am: Opening of New Exhibit: “History of Schools in Wayne County”


 Tuesday, May 20, 6:00pm: Wall of Fame Ceremony. This program was founded in 2002 by the Wayne County Historical Association and has as its purpose the recognition of contemporary and past citizens who have made outstanding contributions to Wayne County’s heritage and progress. All inductees are included in a permanent display at the Wayne County Museum located in Goldsboro, North Carolina.


Saturday, May 24, 3:00pm: Local author Sherwood Owl Williford will present on his latest book Shining Stars from a Segregated South. This work is set around one of the south’s premier Black schools of the twentieth century, Dillard High. Its founder, Rev. Charles Dillard and his successor Hugh Victor Brown are credited with molding numerous scholars whose influence resonates far beyond its southern borders.


Tuesday, May 27, 6:30-8:30pm: Trivia Night. Opening up the Ballroom for a night of fun. Compete in teams of up to four individuals to answer questions in five categories (Wayne County, Geography, Before & After, This Week in History, Connections). No phones allowed!
