StageStruck, The Young People’s Own Theatre, will be officially returning to live theatre this summer! The extended intermission that StageStruck has experienced due to Covid is now over as StageStruck, in association with the Paramount Theatre, brings to the stage the popular Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, The Sound of Music! StageStruck is thrilled to raise the curtains for the full, magical experience of live musical theatre again! It feels especially fitting that this favorite, iconic musical about finding hope in the face of adversity is their first fully staged production in over a year.
Based on the true story of The Von Trapp Family Singers, The Sound of Music is the beloved story of Maria, a nun-turned-governess who enters the lives of the Von Trapp family. It is set in Austria in 1938 during the Nazi regime as Austria is on the brink of invasion. It is a story of a family overcoming incredible obstacles, reconnecting and finding their path in life. The show features favorites such as "Edelweiss", "My Favorite Things", "Do-Re-Mi" and more.
Show times are July 23rd at 7 pm, July 24th at 1pm and 7pm and July 25th at 3pm.
Tickets can be purchased from the Paramount Theatre box office at goldsboroparamount.com. Tickets are $18 for adults and $15 for students. For more information about StageStruck you can visit their website at stagestruck.net.
