Person Charged With Felony Embezzlement of Over $10,000

On 6-10-16 The Goldsboro Tennis Association filed a report in reference to a subject embezzling approximately $10,775.00 from the non-profit organization.

Further Investigation revealed that Michael Boothman was responsible for the theft. Mr. Boothman then moved out of state prior to being developed as a person of interest.

Mr. Boothman was contacted and set up a meeting with the Goldsboro Police Department but failed to show up. On 6-28-16 Warrants were secured against Mr. Boothman for Felony Embezzlement.

Several attempts were made to serve Mr. Boothman in the state of Florida where Mr. Boothman has moved to. On 7-7-16 Mr. Boothman turned himself into the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. Mr. Boothman was given a $1,500.00 secured bond and placed in the Wayne County Detention Facility.
