Pikeville Woman Arrested For Felony Assault Offense

On June 6, 2016, officers from B-shift, responded to a call of an armed subject in the 700 block of North James Street. Once on scene officers spoke to victim, Michelle Potter: who had been assaulted with a bladed object in the abdomen.

During their investigation they were told that Ms. Michelle Potter struck Ms. Wanda Crumpler with a beer bottle. Ms. Wanda Crumpler then pulled a pocket knife and stabbed Ms. Potter in the ribs. She was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital and later airlifted to Vidant Medical Center, in Greenville, NC.

The suspect, Wanda Dubois Crumpler was taken into custody and charged with: Felony Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury. She was placed in the Wayne County Detention Center under a $25,000.00, secured bond.
