Teeny Tiny Art Show

Art comes in all shapes & sizes! The Arts Council is hosting their first Teeny Tiny Art Show, and they’re calling for submissions. Anything can be entered, as long as it’s no bigger than 4”x4”x4”. Entries will be accepted June 1st-3rd and the public can enjoy the art through July 17th. Call for details.

Nahunta Friends Meeting will be hosting “Fun in the Sun” Volleyball tournament and other games for all ages, and a praise band from 3-8p.m. Free food and bring a lawn chair. Free Movie Night!

Nahunta Friends Meeting is hosting their second summer free movie night. The movie “Me Again” will be shown rain or shine. Please bring a lawn chair to the Meeting Place Park on Nahunta Rd behind Nahunta Friends Meeting, which is on Highway 581 in Pikeville. It will be shown at the picnic shelter. If it rains, it will be shown inside the adjacent building. Don’t forget, this movie is free and open to the public.

Second Chance 5K Run

CORP, Inc. is a non-profit organization (501c3) that is dedicated to providing second chance opportunities to men and women who are veterans, homeless, poverty stricken, and non-violent ex-offenders living in Goldsboro and Wayne County. Our mission is to strategically educate and equip our participants with the necessary tools needed to demolish those revolving doors, barriers, and challenges that they face, while assisting them to transition from dependency to self-sufficiency and reduce recidivism. At CORP, Inc. will equip each participant to become Job Readiness through EERP with the assistance from Community Colleges, Businesses, and Organizations that are for Second Chances. CORP, Inc. will be hosting a 5k walk on Saturday, June, 13, 2015 at 9:30 am. This walk will aid in assisting to raise funds for the organization; so, that the organization can continue to offer quality programs and services. Registration is now open! Register by calling 919-947-0649, this is a fundraiser to support veterans and homeless individuals, as well as non-violent ex-offenders that have had a life of incarceration, and they want to make a change.
