Winter Clothing Drive to Benefit Y’s Men Families

Wednesday, October 30, 2019

The United Way of Wayne County is serving as the drop off location for a winter clothing drive to benefit the families selected to participate in the Y’s Men Outreach Event. Donations of hats, gloves or mittens and scarves can be brought to the United Way office located at 2803 Cashwell Drive, Suite B through December 4 at 5:00 P.M.

The Y’s Men Outreach Event has been helping local families for 19 years. The Goldsboro Family YMCA works with the Boys and Girls Club of Wayne County, Wayne Uplift Resource Association, Wayne County Public Schools and Seymour Johnson Air Force Base to identify families in need who don’t receive assistance from another program at Christmas time. The families gather at the Y and volunteers take the parents/guardians shopping while other volunteers entertain the children and teenagers.

Donations of hats, gloves and scarves will be given to children and teenagers of the families selected to participate in the Y’s men event. Donations will be accepted at the United Way of Wayne County office during office hours. If you wish to volunteer for the event, contact Kriquette Davis at 919-778-8557.
