WCPS Implements Employee Code of Excellence

Goldsboro, N.C. – This week, the Wayne County Board of Education and Superintendent Dr. Michael Dunsmore, proudly announced the crafting and implementation of AR 7300 Employee Code of Excellence (ECOE).

“The ECOE is a framework that provides clear and explicit direction on appropriate standards of professional conduct,” said Dr. Dunsmore.

Through the vision and leadership of the Board and the Superintendent, the ECOE was created through a collaboration of representatives of diverse stakeholders. These stakeholders included administrators, teachers, parents, district personnel, and various support staff. Through this joint effort, the ECOE reflects the values of the group.

“This collaboration is a visible sign that WCPS acknowledges and accepts the trust our community has placed with all district personnel as they mold and engage students in pursuit of their lifelong learning goals,” said Mrs. Yvonne Donah, a parent and member of the District team that developed the ECOE.

AR 7300 Employee - Code of Excellence is a document based on existing board policies that defines ethical expectations for all employees of Wayne County Public Schools. “We accept our responsibility to provide our students with a safe, supportive and orderly learning environment,” said Mr. Don Christopher West, Board of Education Chair.
