Reading Between the Wines Literacy Fundraiser

On the evening of Saturday, September 12th, Goldsboro will once again be the setting for an elegant evening of delectable wines, savory hors d’oeuvres and literary brilliance as the Fourth Annual Read Between the Wines takes place at the home of David and Bethany Perry.

Guests will enjoy readings from the distinguished local poet, Lenard D. Moore, of Mount Olive College. Later in the evening, John Hart, the four-time New York Times’ bestselling author of The King of Lies, Down River, The Last Child and Iron House, will make the featured presentation for the evening. Mr. Hart, a North Carolina native and resident, is known for his thrilling legal novels, which take place in small North Carolina cities. Mr. Hart is the two-time recipient of the prestigious Edgar Award for his popular, contemporary novels.

Health Habit, where natural foods and fine wines are available year round, will provide a selection of fine wines. Lighter beverages and delectable hors d’oeuvres will be served throughout the evening. Live music, performed by local musicians, will be performed and the authors will be available to autograph their books. Tickets are sixty dollars each and may be purchased at the Wayne County Public Library beginning August first. The funds raised from this event will support Literacy Connections of Wayne in its mission to help adult learners in Wayne County learn the literacy skills to succeed in our community.
