Wayne County Students, What are YOU doing this winter break?
Did you know that high school and college students provide about 20% of all blood donations? However, when school is out, young donors often do not donate. The Red Cross is looking for student leaders who want to help change that statistic and help support the blood supply this winter.
By hosting a blood drive, you’ll be offering people the chance to give something that means something this holiday season…the gift of life. To help ensure a stable blood supply over the holidays, invite your friends to donate while school is out of session. You could earn a gift card and win a college scholarship!
To be eligible, a student blood drive coordinator must:
Be 16-24 years old.
Coordinate a blood drive between December 15, 2014 and January 15, 2015.
Collect at least 25 pints of blood and achieve 100% of the blood drive goal.
