Leadership Wayne County is a program of the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce and is designed to create a corps of leaders dedicated to the betterment of the community through service. Participation is open to persons who are recognized as emerging leaders, as well as those persons demonstrating leadership potential. This 9 month program seeks men and women who have achieved leadership positions within their field who are likely to be recruited for community service.
Class meetings begin in September and continue once a month until graduation in May the following year. Each class meeting exposes members to various aspects of Wayne County and covers a wide array of topics including local government, history, agri-business, education, business & industry, as well as arts and leisure. In addition to gaining insight into Wayne County, class members will also complete a class project.
Participation is open to Wayne County residents. The committee seeks representatives from a cross-section of the community - business, industry, education, government, community-based organizations, and minority groups. Deadline for applications is July 17, 2014. Visit www.waynecountychamber.com to apply!
