NC to celebrate farm heritage at Aycock birthplace

AP-NC-- FREMONT, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina will celebrate its farm heritage with an event at the Governor Charles B. Aycock Birthplace in Fremont.

The Saturday on the Farm program will feature vintage farm equipment displayed by the Eastern Carolina Vintage Farm Equipment Club. It also will feature the Beekeepers of the Neuse, who will share information about beekeeping, have a beehive on display, and sell honey and products made from honey and beeswax.

The Aycock site features a mid-19th-century farmstead, including a house, kitchen and outbuildings. The house is furnished with pieces from the period. It also has a corn barn, stables and a three-season kitchen.
